Growing up locally right here in Canberra, Angus completed his Diploma of Remedial Massage at the Canberra Institute of Technology in 2018. Angus has since worked as a Remedial Massage Therapist in a clinical environment and for a number of state and national sporting teams including the Canberra Raiders, Brumbies, NBA Excellence Academy, NSW Cricket and more.
In October 2022, Angus and his partner Alicia embarked on a new challenge of small business ownership when they took over as Directors of Assuage Massage Canberra.
Angus discovered his passion and interest in human movement and biomechanics through a variety of different sports growing up. It was through his own injury rehabilitation journey(s) that he developed an interest in remedial massage and soft tissue therapy as a means to restore his body to its complete potential.
When it comes to treatment style, Angus believes that education is the key to recovery. Having an understanding of what is happening in our body and how we got to the point of pain or reduced function will enhance any treatment techniques we may explore.
During a session, you will be given a comprehensive postural analysis to determine the direction of the treatment and create a plan that is specific to your condition and goals.
Angus uses a range of techniques including joint mobilisations, Dry Needling, facilitated stretching, deep tissue and lighter fascial techniques.
Angus incorporates a blend of clinical focus while maintaining the soothing atmosphere of a traditional massage experience.
When Angus is outside of the clinic he enjoys running with his partner and German Shorthaired Pointer, watching Aussie Rules Footy (or any sport really) with mates, camping, learning about wine and spending time with his family.
